• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE CITY ENGINEER.TO
PREPARE AND FILE A REPORT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 4,
CHAPTER ],.PART 2, "LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF
197211, BEING DIVISION 15, STREETS.AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ORDERING CERTAIN STREET LIGHTING
FIXTURES AND APPURTENANCES TO BE INSTALLED; ELECTRICAL
ENERGY AND MAINTENANCE TO BE FURNISHED FOR ALL STREET
LIGHTS THROUGHOUT THE CITY, AND FOR THE FURNISHING OF
LANDSCAPING'MAINTENANCE, APPURTENANCES AND APPURTENANT
WORK IN THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA; AS SHOWN ON
PLAND.AND.DIAGRAM NO. 1978-1979, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
COMMENCING JULY 1, 1978 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1979•
WEST COVINA STREET LIGHTING AND LANDSCAPING DISTRICT
NO. 1978-1979•
WHEREAS, the CityfCouncil;.of the City of West Covina, California, proposes -
to renew an assessment district pursuant to the "Landscaping and Lighting Act of
197211, being Division 15, Part 2 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State
of California; and
WHEREAS, the.Tsaid assessment district shall include all parcels of land
within thesaidCity and shall be'des'ignated as the "West- Covina Street
• Lighting and Landscaping District No. 1978-1979"; and
WHEREAS, iV is necessary to -'furnish the energy and to maintain the
street lighting system; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed to maintain all landscaping as shown on West
Covina Street Lighting and Landscaping Maintenance Plan No. 1978-1979, which
includes the maintenance of all trees throughout the City of West Covina
located on City property, replacing of same and appurtenances and appurtenant
work relating to the above said tree maintenance; the installation and main-
tenance of all irrigation systems necessary for the above; maintaining of all
designated parkways, street medians and landscaped areas as shown on said Plan;
and such areas as the City Council may require; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to furnish the energy and to maintain the light-
ing system and to maintain the trees and landscaping;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Engineer is hereby ordered to prepare and file
a report in accordance.with Article 4, Chapter 1, Part 2, "Landscaping and
Lighting Act of 197211, being Division 15, Part 2, Streets and Highways Code of
the State of California, for the installation and the furnishing of energy and
• the maintenance of street lighting fixtures and appliances and the landscaping
maintenance of trees and landscaped areas as shown on .Plan No. 1978-1979 for
the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1978.and ending June 30, 1979, all as set
forth in this resolution.
SECTION 2: That a certified copy of this resolution be presented to the
said City Engineer for his information 'and guidance.

SECTION 3--.The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of
this resolution;.shall cause the same to be entered among the original reso.lu-
tions of said City;,and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof
• in the records of the meeting at which the same.is passed and adopted.
