RESOLUTION NO. 5667
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA
IN SUPPORT OF THE PROPOSED LOS ANGELES
COUNTY GENERAL PLAN.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the proposed General Plan for Los
Angeles County has been reviewed by the City of West
Covina; and
WHEREAS, through the East San Gabriel Valley
Planning Committee, the City of West Covina, through
its staff, did actively participate with the Department
of Regional Planning -in the development of the Plan as
it impacts the East San Gabriel Valley; and
WHEREAS, the Plan provides explicit goals
and policies which are generally consistent with the
goals and policies of the City of West Covina, as
adopted in its updated General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Los Angeles County
General Plan will require the assistance and input of
local jurisdictions for its implementation; and
WHEREAS, the Plan will also require strong
leadership by the County to assure its implementation.
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the
City Council of West Covina does hereby support the
efforts of the Regional Planning Department in develop-
ing the proposed countywide General Plan; and recommends
the adoption of this Plan to the Los Angeles Regional
Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors; and
THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the
City Council of the City of West Covina requests that
the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County continue
to designate the East San Gabriel Valley Planning
Committee as the Area Council to continue to work with
the Regional Planning Department to implement said
General Plan.
FINALLY RESOLVED;that the City Clerk shall
certify to the adoption of this resolution.
