A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA ORDERINGr A PARTIAL
CONSOLIDATION OF THE.WALNUT VALLEY UNIFIED
SCHOOL DISTRICT'S BOND AND STATE ACCEPTANCE
ELECTION -WITH THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF WE'ST'COVINA ON
MARCH 7, 1978..
WHEREAS, the Walnut Valley Unified; School District has
called a District Bond and State Acceptance election to be held
on March 7, 1978 and has requested that the election be consol-
idated with .the General Municipal election ,to be held on the
same day;
. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West
Covina does.resolve order and -declare as follows!
SECTION 1. The'Walnut Valley Unified School District's
Bond.and State Acceptance election to be°held on March 7, 1978,
is hereby ordered to be partially consolidated with the General
Municipal election.to be..held in the City of:.W.est Covina on
that day-
SECTION 2. The.consolidation`shaif'only be effective as
to those precincts where a single precinct established for the
school district election lies entirely within a single precinct
establi'shed.for the General Municipal"election.
. SECTION 3. Within_the territory affected by the-con'soli-,
dation, the election officers, polling places and voting booths
shall be�the same,: Separate ballots,.ballot:box'es and register
of voters shall beprovided for each election., The returns of
the school district election shall be canvassed by the canvassing
board established by the Board of .Trustees:of-.the Walnut Valley
Unified School -District.
SECTION 4.. The City Clerk shall !,implement the partial
consolidation provided' for in ;this 'resolution.
SECTION 5. The City .Clerk shall 'certify *to the adoption
of this resolution and transmit a copy 'to the Board of Trustees
of the Walnut Valley Unified School 'District and to the County
Superintendent of .Schools of the County„of..Los• Angeles.
