A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF.WEST COVI'NA CALLING AND GIVING -
NOT I,CE OF -THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL - -
MUNICIPAL ,ELECTION TO BE. -HELD IN--SAID-
CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 7th•DAY OF MARCH,
1978, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN
OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED. BY THE
PROVIS.2ONS OF THE LAWS OF -THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA RELATING'TO-GENERAL.LAW CITIES.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws.relating to
General Law Cities in the -State of California, ,a regular general
municipal elec.tionshall be held on the-7th day of March, 1978,
for the election.of two members of the, City Council.of said City
- for- the full `-term 'of four years
NOW, THEREFORE, -THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
DOES HEREBY. RESOLVE, DECLARE,.DETERMINE'AND ORDER'AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.`- That pursuant to -the. -requirements of the laws
of the State .of California relating,to General Law Cities within
said State, there; -shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered,
held in the City of West Covina, County of Los AP'g,eles, State of
California, on Tuesday, the 7th day -of March,-1978, a regular general
municipal election of the qualified electors of said City for the
purpose of electing two members of the City Council of said City
for the full termof four years.
• SECTION 2, That'the ballots 'to be'use'd at said election
shall be, both as;°to form and matter contained therein, such as
may be required by law to be used thereat.
SECTION 3. That the City. Clerk "of. said `City is hereby
authorized, instructed and directed to -procure -and furnish any and
all official "ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies,
equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly
and lawfully conduct said election..
SECTION 4. That for the purpose of holding said regular
general municipal election, the City Clerk is authorized and directed
to recommend to the City Council the.consolidation of precincts for
the:purpose of establishing the necessary voting precincts for said
election, to arrange for necessary polling places, and for officers.

SECTION '5. That the compensation of -the persons herein -
before named - as election officers is�hereby fixed .at the sum of
Twenty-five Doll'ars..for each Inspector.and Twenty Dollars for each
Judge and Clerk;'for said election. -The mental for each of such
polling places,aiwhere a charge. -is made, shall be the sum of Twenty.
Dollars for said election. When required, -the compensation of the
Custodian of'.'a-building shall be•Five Dollars for said election.
• SECTIONi;6.. The polls for sa-id.ele'ction.shall be open at
seven o'clock A:!M_ of the'day. of-said,election and shall remain open
continuously from said'time until seven o.'clock.P.M. of the same
day when said polls shall be.closed, execpt as provided in Section
14301 of the Elections Code.of the State of.California.
