A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
• CITY OF -WEST COVINA ORDERING.THE .VACATION
OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SUNSET PLACE,
SUNSET AVENUE,,GARVEY AVENUE, AND ALL .
OTHER;;RIGHTS OF THE, CITY OF WEST COVINA
TO USE CONTIGUOUS AREAS FOR.CITY STREET..
PURPOSES.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does
resolve as follows:.
SECTION 1. The City Council.of the City of West
Covina, does hereby find, determine, and declare as follows:
(a) That on the 25th day of April, 1977, at a
regular meeting of said Council, Resolution.No. 5437 was
duly adopted by -a vote of said Council setting the time for
hearing on the iiproposed .vacation. of certain portions of
Sunset Place, Garvey Avenue, Sunset Avenue; and all other
rights of the City of West Covina -to use contiguous areas
for City street purposes located within the City of West
Covina:
(b) That said area'pio'po' to be vacated is more
particularly described as follows
• That' port ion of Lot-133 of E. J. Baldwin's Fourth
Subdivision as shown on the map recorded.in Book 8,
Page 186;;of Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder,'of the County of Los Angeles, State of.
California, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersecti'on.of the no
prolongation of the southwesterly line of Lot 144
of said.E. J. Baldwin's Fourth Subdivision with
the easterly line of Sunset Avenue as established
by a resolution of the City'Council of the..City of
West Covina, a certified copy of which.is recorded
in Book D-1725, Page 481, of Official Records in
the office of said County Recorder.. said intersec'
-tion being. North 480 46' 34" West 15.85, feet, mea-

operate.1replace remove, renew, and enlarge lines
of pipe..conduits, cables, wires, poles, and.other
convenient structures, equipment and fixtures fora

telephone -lines, -and for the transportation or dis--
tributio'n of electric energy, water and incidental
purposes !';..'including access and the right to keep the
property free from inflammable. materials and wood
growth,�and otherwise protect the same from all
hazards.
(c) That on the 23rd day -of May, 1977i at a.
regular council meeting the said City Council did hold -a
public hear ng.to-determine whether the.said area.above-
described should be vacated as a public street..
- •- SECTION 2. It hereby is found, determined, and declared .by the City Council of the City of.West Covina,
.after hearing the evidence adduced,.,that the above -described
portions within the City of West Covina is -not necessary for
present:or prospective public street purposes and the general
welfare.and,convenience of the City of West Covina require
that the same be vacated. The said -portions above -described
hereby are vacated. -as public streets.

SECTION.3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this;resolution and cause the same to be recorded
with the office "of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles
and to.file all ;other necessary documents in order that.thi�s
vacation become "effective.
