A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMISSION OF A FORMAL APPLICATION FOR THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROJECT.
WHEREAS the City of West Covina desires to implement
a certain project designated Traffic Enforcement to be funded
in part from funds made available through the State of California
and Transportation Agency Office of Traffic Safety under Section
2907, California Vehicle Code, and Section 402(c) of Public Law
89-564 as amended by Public Law 91-605, administered by the Office
of Traffic Safety (hereafter referred to as OTS).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager
of the City of West Covina is authorized on its behalf, to
submit the attached Application for Phase I of a Grant for
Traffic Safety Purposes to OTS and the Mayor and City Clerk
are authorized to execute on behalf of the City of West Covina
the attached Grant Award Contract for traffic safety purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to
provide all matching funds required for said project under the
Safe Streets Act and the rules and regulations of OTS and the
Law Enforcement Assistance Administration and that cash will
be appropriated as required thereby.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received
hereunder shall not be used to supplant on -going law enforcement
expenditures.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall
certify to the adoption'of this resolution and shall file a
certified copy thereof with the Office of Traffic Safety.
