A'RESOLUTION OF THE -CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF`WEST COVINA VACATING AND ABAN
DONING_A PORTION OF A STREET WHICH HAS
BEEN SUPERSEDED BY RELOCATION (GRAND
AVENUE)_-,
_WHEREAS, the County of Los -Angeles has.realigned a
portion -.of Grand'Avenue,'southerly of,the San Bernardino
Freeway,. and
WHEREAS, there are no improvements onoa-portion of.
the old alignment -of Grand Avenue, , and
WHEREAS, A. R. Cole, the.adjacent property owner,
has, requested the vacation of the.abovementioned portion:of
Grand Avenue, for better utilization.of his property.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council.of the City-of`West
.Covina does -resolve as follows:
SECTION J.' Pursuant to Sections. 1930 to 1934, in-
clusive, of the Streets and Highways Code, the City Council of. -
the City of.'West Covina hereby finds and determines that the
following described portion -.of Grand -Avenue has been super
-seded by -relocation: -
That certain portion of Grand Avenue (formerly Oregon Avenue)
as shown_on Tract`No. 10330, in -the City,•of West Covina,
County of'Los Angeles, State of California, per map recorded
in Book -161, Pages 22 through-31 inclusive of maps on file
.in the office -of the County Recorder of said County, bounded
as follows:
Bounded westerly by the westerly., -line of.said Grand
Avenue-, described as follows:- Beginning at the
northerly -terminus of that certain -.course -of South
10 04' west 544.20 feet; thence -southerly along last
-..-mentioned course, 544.20 feet --to thebeginning of a
tangent curve concave.easterly`and having a radius
of 10.40 feet, thence southerly, along said curve,
through a central angle of 70 13' 44 an. arc :length of
1-31.21.feet to the beginning'of a reverse curve.con-.
cave westerly,and`having a radius -of 64.66 feet;
thence:southerly, along last. -mentioned curve, through.
-a central angle of 650,02' 57",an arc.length of 73.41
.feet to the northerly -line of Holt Avenue,-80.00 feet
wide; bounded northerly by the.easterly--prolongation
of..the.southerly'-line of that.certain parcel described
in the.•deed to the.State of California recorded on
October 24, 1968 as _instrument No. 846; bounded east-
erly by the centerline of said Grand-Avenue';bounded
southerly by the.easterly prolongation•.of the northerly
line of Holt Avenue,.'8000 feet wide
Except :therefrom that :portion".lying easterly of a .line
_.that.is parallel and concentric, -measured at right
angles 'and radially, *67.00 feet from the centerline of
:realigned Grand Avenue°per-C..S.B..430t3.
Also reserving,and`excepting from said vacation the per-
-manent -easement and right at any _time, -or from time to
time,,to construct., maintain, operate,:replace, remove,
and renew -sanitary sewers and storm drains, and
drain:.facilities, and appurtenant.structures and
to construct, maintain,.operate, replace, remove,
renew, and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables,-
wires, poles, and other convenient-.struc-tures,
equipment -and fixtures for the operation of.gas
pipe --lines, telegraphic and telephone lines, and
• for the transportation.or.distribut on of electric
energy and water lines, including access to protect
the property from all hazards in, -upon, -arid
over the.street.or part thereof -proposed to be
vacated. -
SECTION 2. That -portion -of existing Grand
Avenue -described in.Section,..l hereof is hereby summarily vacated
and abandoned.
SECTION 3. The City. -Clerk shall certify to the
adoption,.of this resolution and-shall,cause-a certified copy
thereof -to berecorded in -the office -of the County Recorder of
said County.
