A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA AMENDING -THE LAND USE
• ELEMENT OF THE CITY'S GENERAL PLAN AND
CERTIFYING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT
THEREFOR (General Plan Amendment No.-1977-1 -
Land Use Element).
The City Council of the City of West Covina does
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find, deter-
mine and declare that the following amendment to.the Land Use Element
of the City's General Plan was duly initiated,'that notice of hearing
thereon was duly given and published, that public hearings thereon
were duly held by the Planning Commission, and by the City Council,
,and that the.public convenience, necessity and general welfare require
that the following amendment to the Land Use Element of the City's
General Plan be adopted.
SECTION 2. The Land Use Element of the City's General
Plan is hereby amended by changing the land use designation on a
7.88-acre parcel of land located approximately 400 feet south of
Merced Avenue and bounded on the east by Sunset Avenue, on the west
by Trojan Way, and on the south by the northerly line of Lots 1
through 7, inclusive, of Tract No. 23971 from "low/medium" density
residential to "medium" density residential.
• SECTION 3. The City Council does hereby find and
determine that the -Environmental Impact Report prepared for the
General Plan Amendment and reviewed and approved for certification
by the Planning Commission after notice and public hearing, is
adequate and has been prepared in accordance with the California
Environmental Quality Act of 1970 and the State Guidelines, and is
hereby adopted by the City Council and shall be certified by the
Planning Director, as required by law.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
