A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, APPROVING
A SPECIFIC PLAN FOR THE DEVELOPMENT
• OF CORTEZ PARK AND CERTIFYING A
NEGATIVE DECLARATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL
IMPACT.
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Recreation
and Parks has prepared a Specific Plan.for the future development
of Cortez Park in implementation of the Environmental Quality Element
of the City's adopted General.Plan; and
WHEREAS, both the Recreation and Parks Commission
and the Planning Commission, after notice and public hearing, have
recommended to the City Council that the public convenience, necessity
and general welfare require the adoption of said plan; and
WHEREAS the City Council, after published notice,
held a public hearing on the recommended Specific Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of
West Covina does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The Specific Plan for the development
of Cortez Park, a copy of which is on file in the City Clerk's office,
and which is by this reference incorporated herein, is hereby adopted.
SECTION 2. The City Council does hereby find and
declare that:
• a.' The Cortez Park Specific Plan is consistent
with the goals and objectives of the City'.s.adopted General Plan.
b. The Negative Declaration of Environmental
Impact for the project as approved by the Planning Commission after
notice and public hearing, is adequate, has been prepared in accordance
with the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970 and the State
Guidelines, and is hereby adopted by the City Council. The Planning
Director is hereby directed to certify the Negative Declaration of
Environmental Impact.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution.
