A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST COVINA ESTABLISHING
• ' INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE
ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AUTHORIZING THE
PERFORMANCE OF WORK IN ANY PUBLIC
AREA AND FOR PUBLIC WORKS.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. In order to protect the City and the
public, the following minimum insurance requirements are hereby
established for contractors and others performing work in public
areas subject to the jurisdiction of the City of West Covina:
a. Permits
Prior to the issuance of any permit which
,involves work in a public area, the applicant for
the permit shall supply a Certificate of Insurance
naming the City as an "additional insured" and
hawing a 30-day written notice cancellation clause
`providing public liability and property damage
combined single limit liability coverage in an
amount at least equal to $500,000.
• b. Public works Contracts
Prior to the execution of any public works
contract -by the City of West Covina, the contractor
shall supply a Certificate of Insurance naming the
City as an "additional insured" and having a 30-day
written notice cancellation clause providing public
liability and property damage combined single limit
liability coverage in an amount at least equal to
$1,000,000.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
