A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE CITY ENGINEER TO
PREPARE AND FILE A'REPORT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 4,
CHAPTER A , PART 2, "LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 197211,
BEING DIVISION 15, STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, ORDERING CERTAIN STREET LIGHTING FIXTURES
AND APPURTENANCES TO BE INSTALLED; ELECTRICAL ENERGY AND
MAINTENANCE TO BE FURNISHED FOR ALL STREET LIGHTS THROUGH-
OUT THE CITY, AND.FOR THE FURNISHING OF LANDSCAPING MAIN-
TENANCE, APPURTEANCES AND APPURTENANT WORK IN THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA; AS SHOWN ON PLAN AND DIAGRAM
NO. 1977-1978, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JULY 1, 1977
AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1978.
WEST COVINA STREET LIGHTING AND LANDSCAPING DISTRICT NO.1977-1978
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina, California, pro-
poses to rerew, an assessment district pursuant to the "Landscaping and Lighting
Act of 1972", being Division 15, Part 2.of the Streets and Highways Code of
the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the said assessment district shall include all parcels of
land within the said City and shall be designated as the "West Covina Street
Lighting and Landscaping District'No. 1977-1978';'; and
• WHEREAS, it is necessary to furnish the energy and to maintain the
street lighting system; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed to maintain all landscaping as shown on -West
Covina Street Lighting and Landscaping Maintenance Plan No. 1977-1978, which
includes the maintenance of all trees throughout.the City of West Covina
located on City property, replacing of same and appurtenances and appurten-
ant work relating to the above said tree maintenance; the installation and
maintenance of all irrigation systems necessary for the above; maintaining
of all designated parkways, street medians and landscaped areas as shown on
said Plan; and such areas as the City Council may require; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to furnish the energy and to maintain the
lighting system and to maintain the trees and landscaping;
NOW, THERFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA'DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Engineer is hereby ordered to prepare and file
a 'report in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 1, Part 2, "Landscaping and
Lighting Act of 197211, being Division 15, Part 2, Streets and Highways Code
of the State of Ca.l i for'n i a, for the installation and the furnishing of energy
And the maintenance of street lighting fixtures and appliances and the land-
scaping maintenance of trees and landscaped areas as shown on Plan N0.1977-1978
for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1977 and ending June 30, 1978, all as
• set forth in this resolution.
SECTION 2. That a certified copy of this resolution be presented to
the said City Engineer for his information and guidance.
. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shallcertify to the passage and adoption
of this resolution; shall cause the same to be entered among the original
resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute df the passage and adoption
thereof in the records of the meeting at which the same is passed and
• adopted.
