A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE CLASS
SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CLASS OF POLICE OFFICER
AND AMENDING SECTION VIII OF RESOLUTION NO. 1277
RELATING TO LATERAL ENTRY.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
ds follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant.to the recommendation of the Personnel
Board:
(a) The class specifications for the Class of Police
Officer is hereby repealed and new class specifications for the
Class of Police Officer, as attached hereto marked Exhibit A. and,
by this reference, incorporated herein, are hereby adopted.
(b) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section VIII of
Resolution No. 1277, the following addition to Section VIII relating
to salary plan administration is hereby adopted:
Section VIII. Salary Plan Administration
"(m). Lateral Entry. Notwithstanding anything in this
Resolution to the contrary, upon recommendation of
the department head and the approval of the City
Manager, initial employment may be made at A, B,
or C step upon a showing of good cause and when a
part of a lateral entry program conducted by the
City."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
