RESOLUTION NO. 5315
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE
• ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTIONS 35300 TO 35326 OF THE GOVERNMENT
CODE (Souther'l'y,_;Annexatiori' No'. 222)
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina initiated annexation pro-
ceedings, at the request of the property owner, of that certain
uninhabited property described in Exhibit "A" which is attached
hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina consented to said annexation
of this uninhabited territory by its Resolution No. 5213 adopted
on March 22, 1976; and
WHEREAS, on August 11, 1976, the Local Agency Formation Com-
mission adopted its resolution determining that the proposed annex-
ation is exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental
Quality Act under Section 15101 of the State Guidelines and approving
this annexation, and authorized the City to proceed without notice,
hearing, and election, pursuant to Section 54797.1 of the Government
Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina
does resolve as follows:
• SECTION 1. The territory described in Exhibit "A", the boundary
description of which has been approved by the County Engineer of
the County of Los Angeles and the Local Agency Formation Commission
of the County of Los Angeles and•which territory was designated in
the resolution of the Local Agency Formation Commission -as "Southerly
Annexation No. 222," is hereby annexed to, incorporated in and
made a part of the City of West Covina. Said territory shall be
designated as "Southerly Annexation No. 222."
SECTION 2. The territory hereby annexed to the City of West
Covina shall be a part of the City for all purposes from the date
of the filing with the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles
of the affidavit of the completion of the annexation proceedings
provided for in Section 34080 and 34081 of the Government Code.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution and shall file a certified copy thereof with the
Secretary of State of the State of California. After the Certificate
of the Secretary of State certifying to its filing has been received
by the City of West Covina, the City Clerk shall file with the County
Recorder the affidavit and documents required by Sections 34080 and
34081 of the Government Code and shall file a certified copy of the
map and boundary description of the annexed territory with the County
Engineer and the County Assessor of the County of Los Angeles and with
the State Board of Equalization of the State of California and the
Census Bureau of the United States Government.

A portion of Pass and Covina Road vacated by Resolution
No. 4325 recorded in Book D-5511 Page 601, of Official.Records
in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, and a portion of Pass and Covina
Road as it now exists, together with a portion of Maplegrove
Street (formerly Abel Street) as conveyed.to said County of
Los Angeles by deed recorded: in Book D-470, Page 794, of
Official Records in the office of said County Recorder, de-
scribed as a whole as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the Easterly Prolongation
of the northerly line of Lot 1, Tract No. 517, as per map
recorded in Book 15, Page 16 of Maps, in the office of said
• County Recorder with a line parallel with and distant north-
easterly 30.00 feet, measured at right angles, from the
northeasterly line of said Lot 1; thence Southeasterly along
said parallel line to the southerly terminus of a curve, con-
centric with and 30.00 feet southwesterly, measured radially
from that certain 500 foot radius curve in the westerly boundary
of Lots 37, 38 and 39 in Tract No. 13875, as per map recorded
in Book 284, Pages 41 and 42 of Maps, in the office of said
County Recorder; thence northwesterly along said concentric curve
to a line radial to said curve and passing through the point of
intersection of.the easterly line of Pass and Covina.Road, 60.00
feet wide as shown on said Map of Tract No, 517 with a curve

from said certain 500 foot radius curve in the westerly boundary
of said Lots 37, 38 and 39; thence southwesterly along said
radial line to said point of intersection; -thence northwesterly

wide as shown on said map of Tract No. 517 to the southerly line
of the land conveyed to said County of Los Angeles by deed re-

of said County Recorder, said southerly line being a curve concave,,
southerly and being concentric with and.38.00 feet southerly,
measured radially from that certain curve described as having a
radius of 300.00 feet and a length of 141.91'feet in the center
