RESOLUTION NO. 5267
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, PAYING TRIBUTE TO PLANNING COM-
MISSIONER ROBERT L. JACKSON FOR THE SERVICES RENDERED
TO THE CITY OF WEST COVINA.
WHEREAS, ROBERT L. JACKSON was appointed to the Planning Commission of
the City of West Covina in November 1954 to September 1961.
He was then reappointed in June 1966 and served until June 10,
1976. Mr. Jackson served on the said Commission for 17 years
with fervent dedication and commitment; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure on the Commission he served as Chairman from
February 1960 to February 1961 and then from July 1974 to
July 1975; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure in office as a Planning Commissioner, ROBERT
L. JACKSON actively participated in numerous programs designed
to improve the role of planning throughout the East San Gabriel
Valley and the City of West Covina; and
WHEREAS, ROBERT L. JACKSON's constant commitment to the principles and
practice of Urban Planning contributed to the proper use and
development of land in the City of West Covina; and
WHEREAS, his dedication and devotion to planning the City of West Covina
has led to greater public support and understanding of the City's
planning function; and
WHEREAS, ROBERT L. JACKSON's devotion to the betterment of the community
achieved tangible results in innumerable forms:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, does hereby posthumously commend Planning Commissioner
ROBERT L. JACKSON for the many fine endeavors he accomplished
for the benefit of all the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall transmit a certified copy to the
family of ROBERT L. JACKSON.
