A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA COMMENDING
CHARLES J. DUN FOR HIS SERVICES TO
THE CITY
WHEREAS, CHARLES J. DUN was appointed to the West Covina Recrea-
tion and Park Commission by the City Council on July 11,
1972; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure tie did serve faithfully and diligently.
as Vice -Chairperson during 1973-74 and as Chairperson of
the Recreation and Park Commission during 1974-75; and
WHEREAS, through his.demonstrated concern for the recreational
needs of the community, COMMISSIONER DUN dedicated him-
self to serving the best interests of every West Covina
resident;. and
WHEREAS, during COMMISSTONER DUN'S tenure he personally served as
liaison with the West Covina Youth Baseball Council and
has followed and encouraged all levels of baseball within
his community, always expressing great enthusiasm, through
his involvement, for baseball activities; and
WHEREAS, during this period of time he assisted substantially in
planning, formulating, and developing the following
projects: Palm View Community Center, tennis court,
lighting at West Covina High School, bocce ball court
at Cortez Park, Cameron Avenue park site acquisition,
NYPUM Program, formation of Senior Citizens Association
of West Covina, dedication of Gingrich Park and Memorial
Spring, East Valley Art Association monthly art fairs,
® and 1974.State Park Bond Act; and
WHEREAS, COMMISSIONER DUN.constantly, continually and faithfully
worked for a complete well-rounded community recreation
and parks program for the citizens of West Covina;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of West Covina herebv commends CHARLES J. DUN for.his
outstanding service to this City and its youth and ex
presses.its appreciation to him on behalf of the citizens
of this community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and shall transmit a certi-
.fied copy thereof to CHARLES J. DUN.
