RESOLUTION NO. 5230
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE CITY ENGINEER TO
PREPARE AND FILE A REPORT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 4,
CHAPTER l; PART 2, "LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972",
BEING DIVISION 15, STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, :ORDERING' CERTAIN STREET LIGHTING FIXTURES
AND APPURTENANCES TO BE INSTALLED; ELECTRICAL ENERGY AND
MAINTENANCE.TO BE FURNISHED FOR ALL STREET LIGHTS THROUGH-
OUT�. THE' C UTY AND FOR THE FURNISHING OF LANDSCAPING MAI N-
TENANC'E APPURTENANCES AND APPURTENANT WORK IN THE CITY
OF WEST.COVINA, CALIFORNIA;;AS,.SHOWN ON PLAN AND DIAGRAM
,NO. 1976-1977; FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JULY 1, 1976
AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1977•
WEST-COVINA.-STREET LIGHTING AND LANDSCAPING DISTRICT NO. 1976-1977
WHEREAS., the City Council of the City of West Covina,•California, proposes
to form an assessment -district pursuant to the "Landscaping and Lighting Act of
1972" ,being Divis,i6n 15,,Part 2 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State
of Ca l'i forn i a; and,
WHEREAS, the said,assessment district shall include all parcels of land
within the said City.and shall be designated as the "West Covina Street
Lighting and Landscaping District No. 1976-1977"; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to furnish the energy and to maintain the street
lighting system; and
WHEREAS, it .is proposed to maintain all landscap+ng as shown on West Covina
• Street Lighting and Landscaping Maintenance Plan No. 1976-1977, which includes
the maintenance of -all trees throughout the City of West Covina located on
City property, replacing of same and.appurtenances and appurtenant work relating
to the above said tree maintenance; the installation and maintenance of all
irrigation systems necessary for the above; maintaining of all designated
parkways', street medians and landscaped areas as shown on said Plan; and such
areas as the City Council may require; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to furnish the energy and to maintain the lighting
system and to maintain the trees and landscaping;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY .OF WEST COVINA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS;
Section 1. That the City Engineer,is hereby ordered to prepare and file
a report in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 1, Part 2, "Landscaping and
Lighting Act of 197211, being Division 15, Part 2, Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California, for the installation and the furnishing of energy
and the maintenance of street lighting fixtures and appliances and the land-
scaping maintenance of trees and landscaped areas as shown on Plan No. 1976-19-77,
for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1976 and ending June 30, 1977, all as
set forth in this resolution.
Section 2. That a certified copy of this resolution be presented to the
said City Engineer for his information and guidance.

Section 3. The City.Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of
this resolution; shall cause the same to be entered among the original reso-
lutions of said C.ity; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption
thereof in the records of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
