A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA COMMENDING WAYNE SLAVITT ON
RECEIPT OF THE WEST COVINA COORDINATING
COUNCIL'S AWARD AS YOUTH OF THE YEAR.
• WHEREAS, WAYNE SLAVITT was nominated by West Covina High School
to represent it in the Youth of the Month Scholarship
competition and after winning the Youth of the Month
competition, he went on to be elected Youth of the
Year; and
WHEREAS, his myriad activities have included community
philanthropies such as voluntarily tutoring math to
third grade students and serving as Chairman of the
West Covina Youth Advisory Commission; and
WHEREAS, WAYNE SLAVITT has displayed considerable dedication to
his church, Temple Shalom, and his own and others
spiritual well-being; and
WHEREAS, his school and other activities, including Junior and
Senior Class Legislator at West Covina High School,
Spartan Band and Debate Team, have further rounded this
young man into a willing, dependable worker and
extraordinary citizen; and
WHEREAS, WAYNE SLAVITT has received the Bank of America Scholarship,
has received National recognition in competition for the
Elks Club Scholarship Award and through his efforts
brought positive.recognition to the City of West Covina:
. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
West Covina hereby commends WAYNE SLAVITT for his out-
standing citizenship and receipt of the Youth of the
Year Award and-a-lso extends best wishes to him in all
his future.endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and shall transmit a certified
copy thereof to WAYNE SLAVITT.
