SALARIES, AND BENEFITS
The City Council of the City of West Covina does
resolve as
follows:
•
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Resolution No.
5098 is
amended to read:
"SECTION 1. Notwithstanding those portions of Section
VII
of
Resolution No. 1277 relating to salary rates for department heads and exempt em-
ployees, the monthly salary of each position listed below
is hereby
established
as follows:

(a) Effective August 1, 1974, the City will pay to the Public Employees' Retirement
System (PERS) the amount defined by PERS as deferred compensation equivalent
to 7% of the salaries for the above -listed department head range miscellaneous
employees on behalf of the employee's share of the retirement contribution, in-
cluding survivor's benefit.
(b) Effective August 1, 1974, the City will pay to the Public Employees' Retirement
System (PERS) the amount defined by PERS as deferred compensation .equivalent
to 6% of the salaries, for the department head range public safety employees on
behalf of the employee's share of the retirement contribution, including survi-
vor's benefit. "

to employees whose positions are listed in Section 1, term life insurance in amounts
equal to gross annual salaries.
SECTION 3. Beginning with the current calendar year, employees
whose positions are, listed in Section 1 shall be entitled to administrative leave not
to exceed five (5) workdays per calendar year and in accordance with guidelines es-
tablished by the City Manager. This leave is to provide limited time off in .compen-
sation for the many meetings and after business hours' work required of management
personnel.
SECTION 4. With the exceptions noted by the triple asterisk foot-
note, the salary rates provided for herein shall be effective as of April 1, 1976. The
salary rates provided for herein for the classes of Administrative Accountant and City
• Traffic Engineer shall be effective as of January 1, 1976.
