A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA ADOPTING THE EAST SAN GABRIEL
VALLEY MASTER PLAN AS THE BIKEWAY PLAN FOR
THE CITY OF WEST COVINA (Planning Commission
Resolution No. 2642).
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City of West Covina joined with the Cities
of Azusa, Baldwin Park, Covina, Glendora, La Puente, San Dimas,
Walnut and the County of Los Angeles in the formation of the East
San Gabriel Valley Bikeway Committee.
SECTION 2. The East San Gabriel Valley Bikeway Committee
has developed a bikeway plan which connects the valley cities with
each other, with the Los Angeles County bikeway system and with the
West San Gabriel Valley and polar routes. The routes designated
in the East San Gabriel Bikeway Master Plan constitute a combination
of City and Los Angeles County routes connected in such a way as
to permit inter -city travel.
SECTION 3. The East San Gabriel Valley Master Plan, a
copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby
adopted as the Bikeway Master Plan for the City of West Covina and
is, by this reference, incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
SECTION 4. The City Council does hereby find and declare
that the East San Gabriel Valley Bikeway Master Plan is categorically
exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality
Act of 1970 and the State Guidelines and the categorical exemption
is hereby approved by the City Council. The City Council does also
find and declare that the Bikeway Master Plan will serve to enhance
and protect the environment of the City of West Covina.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.
