A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA COMMENDING THE 1975 SOUTH HILLS HIGH
SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM.

WHEREAS, the 1975 SOUTH HILLS HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL
TEAM won the Co -Championship of the Sierra League;
and
WHEREAS, these young men went on to participate in post
season competition notching three wins in a row in
CIF Playoff competition; and
WHEREAS, SOUTH HILLS HIGH SCHOOL was narrowly defeated by
St. Paul High School in the CIF semi-finals in a
heavily contested game; and
WHEREAS, through the course of the season the members of the
SOUTH.HILLS HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY.FOOTBALL TEAM performed
in a. fashion consistent with the doctrines of
sportsmanship and competition; and
WHEREAS, these fine young athletes brought much attention and
acclaim to the City of West Covina through their
many efforts and hard work:
NOW, THEREFORE,.BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of West Covina hereby commends the 1975 SOUTH HILLS
HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM, its coaches and its
supporters for their successful year and expresses
its heartiest appreciation and best wishes in all
future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution.
