A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA COMMENDING THE 1975 WEST COVINA
HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM.
WHEREAS, the 1975 WEST COVINA HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL
TEAM were Co -Champions of the Sierra League in
1975; and
WHEREAS, these fine athletes went on to compete in the
California Interscholastic Federation AAAA play-
offs`winning two games before being eliminated
in the quarter finals .in a very hard-fought con-
test; and
WHEREAS, throughout the course of this pressured compe-
tition, the members of the WEST COVINA HIGH
SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM performed in harmony
with the doctrines of self-discipline and sports-
manship which is the ultimate goal of athletic
competition; and
WHEREAS, this outstanding team of fine young citizens have
brought much credit and attention to the City.of
West Covina because of the success of their athletic
efforts:
-NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of West Covina hereby commends the 1975 WEST
COVINA HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY'FOOTBALL TEAM AND STAFF
MEMBERS for their successful season and expresses
best wishes.in'all of their future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall certify to
the adoption of this resolution and shall transmit
a certified copy thereof to the WEST COVINA HIGH
SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM.
