RESOLUTION NO.5145
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA RELATING TO CANDIDATE'S STATEMENT
OF QUALIFICATION FOR MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. As authorized by Section 10,012.5 of the
Elections Code, each candidate for elective office of the City of
West Covina may prepare a statement of qualifications on an appropriate
form provided by the City Clerk. Such statement may include the
name, age and occupation of the candidate and a brief description
of no more than 200 words of the candidate's education and
qualifications expressed by the candidate himself. Such statement
shall not include the party affiliation of the candidate nor
membership or activity in partisan political organizations and
shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk when the candidate's
nomination papers are returned for filing.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall bill each candidate
who submits a statement of qualifications a sum not greater than
the total prorated costs of printing, handling
or translating the candidate's statement incurred by the City
as a result of providing the service. Only those charges may be
levied with respect to the candidate's statement and each candidate
using these services shall be charged the same amount.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution..
