OF WEST:COVINA, CALIFORNIA,..AMENDING RESOLUTION._
NO. , 12717 , TO FIX THE COMPENSATION,, AND BENEFITS
PAYABLE TO AND TO AMEND THE : PERSONNEL RULES
RELATING TO POLICE CADETS, POLICE. -OFFICERS,
AGENTS, SERGEANTS, LIEUTENANTS AND CAPTAIN
WITHIN.THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.,,.
The City:Council of the City'of West Covina does '
resolve." as follows:
SECTION 1. Section VI.of Resolution,No 1277,
relating to, the sa.Lary, chedule applicable to' -police employees
is. amended to,. read' ''as , s'e.t for.th ' .in Exhibit A7, _• attached hereto
and, by ,this , reference , incorporated herein.
SECTION. 2 A cleaning al''lowance' of .seventy—five
dollars` ($75.00) per year shall be :paid to police cadets,
police officers,- agents, sergeants, lieutenants, and.captain.

SECTION 3. -The incumbent 'police lieutenant assigned''
to the Detective Bureau shall receive a pay differential of 22/0
over the.base salary while working in that capacity..
SECTION-4. Notwithstanding Personnel Rule XTI.1,
police employees- shall, have the right; to appeal 'adisciplinary
suspension purs.uarit 'to Rule XII of the City Personnel Rules.
SECTION 5 . .Section l-, Section 2 and., Section 3 shall -
be •effective <as •of' the, first pay period in ;July, 1975. Section 3
shall. cease to be effective. on July.1,1976`,".
SECTION, '6. The : City Clerk ,shall -• certify to the
adoption :of jthis-Resolution. ;

Method of Computinq Increases
Amount of increase was computed and added to A_ step of the
lowest salary range and next to lowest range used in any one
pay structure. The schedule is then completed by adding 5%
increments to steps above the base A steps, and rounding to
nearest dollar after each computation. Beginning in 1976-77,
all computations will be completed, and the amounts rounded
to the nearest cent. I.
