A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA COMMENDING GEORGE AIASSA FOR HIS
25 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE FIELD OF
CITY MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, GEORGE AIASSA, City Manager of West Covina since 1958, has been a
City Manager for more than 25 years in the Cities of Mill Valley,
Santa Paula, Tulare and West Covina; and
' WHEREAS, his untiring efforts as City Manager have brought many progressive
programs and development to West Covina; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina has witnessed tremendous growth of municipal
services and many street, freeway and flood control improvements as
a result of his efforts; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure as City Manager he was directly associated with the
establishment of the redevelopment Agency, the completion of the City
Hall and Civic Center, the San Bernardino Freeway expansion and the
recent completion of West Covina Fashion Plaza; and
WHEREAS, under the direction of GEORGE AIASSA, the City of West Covina has
maintained a sound financial footing while increasing the level of
services within the same tax structure; and
WHEREAS, GEORGE AIASSA-has donated much of his time to furthering appreciation
of the arts, to education and to many worthwhile organizations and
community -based agencies; and
WHEREAS, he is dedicated to the City of West Covina and devotes many more hours
to his job than are required; and
WHEREAS, his behavior as City Manager has affirmed the dignity and worth of the
services rendered by government by maintaining a constructive, creative,
• and practical attitude toward urban problems and a deep sense of his
social` responsibility as a public servant; and
is
WHEREAS, on.October.l, 1975 the International City Management Association
demonstrated their appreciation and respect for GEORGE AIASSA by
honoring him with a plaque for 25 years of service to the field
of City Management; and
WHEREAS, GEORGE.AIASSA is a gentleman who has dedicated himself to the highest
ideals of honor and integrity in all public and personal relationships,
and in so'doing.has merited the respect and confidence of the elected
.officials,.of other officials, and employees,.and of the public he
serves:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of West Covina
hereby commends GEORGE AIASSA for his services and contributions to
the field of Public Service, and on this his 26th year as a City
Manager extends i.ts appreciation and well wishes in all of his future
endeavors..
