RESOLUTION NO. 5091
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA CONSENTING TO AND REQUESTING THE
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO APPROVE THE TRANSFER OF
CERTAIN TERRITORY FROM THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
TO THE CITY OF COVINA PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS
OF SECTIONS 35270 TO 35280 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE.
WHEREAS, the Cities of Covina and West Covina are con-
tiguous and the City Council of each City desires to transfer certain
territory now included in the City of West Covina to the City of
Covina, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina
desires to initiate proceedings pursuant to Sections 35270 to 35280
of the Government Code for the transfer of the territory hereinafter
described to the City of Covina, and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission has approved
the transfer of territory designated as "Southern Annexation District
No. 67 to the City of Covina (Detachment from the City of West Covina)";
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina
does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of West Covina
does hereby consent to and request the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Los Angeles to effect the transfer pursuant to the pro-
visions of Sections 35270 to 35280 of the Government Code of the
State of California from the City of West Covina to the City of
Covina of the following described territory now included in the
City of West Covina identified as "Southern Annexation District No.
67 to the City of Covina (Detachment from the City of West Covina)":
Beginning at a point in the southerly prolongation of
the easterly line of Lot 31 of Tract No. 17045 as shown
on map filed in Book 448, pages 26, 27 and 28 of Maps,
in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los
Angeles, distant South 220 31' 10" West along said pro-
longation 250 feet from the most southerly corner of
said lot, said point being in that certain curve concave
to the south and having a radius of 3528 feet in the
northerly line of Frontage Road (Garvey Avenue) as shown
on County Surveyor's Filed Map No. 11786, Sheet 4 on
file in the office of the County Engineer of said County,
a radial of said certain curve to said point bears North
17' 52' 09" East, said point also being in the boundary
of the City of Covina as same existed on May 5, 1975;
thence westerly along said certain curve through a central
angle of 50 00' 28" a distance of 308.36 feet to the
boundary of said tract; thence easterly and northeasterly
along said last mentioned boundary to the most southerly
corner of said lot; thence southwesterly along said
boundary of the City of Covina to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is authorized and directed
to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Los Angeles and the City Clerk of the City
of Covina.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
