A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, COMMENDING CRYSTAL TEXEIRA ON RECEIPT OF THE
WEST COVINA JUNIOR WOMEN'S CLUB AND THE WEST COVINA
COORDINATING COUNCIL AWARD AS YOUTH OF THE YEAR.
• WHEREAS, CRYSTAL TEXEIRA was nominated by West Covina High School
to represent it in the Youth of the Month scholarship
competition and after winning the Youth of the Month
competition, she went on to be elected Youth of the Year;
and
WHEREAS, her myriad activities have included community philan-
thropies such as serving as captain for the March of Dimes
campaign, helping at the San Gabriel Valley Retarded
C.iildren's Association Christmas party for two years, and
serving on the West Covina Youth Advisory Commission; and
WHEREAS, CRYSTAL TEXEIRA has displayed considerable devotion to
her church, St. Christopher's, and her own and others
spiritual well-being by serving as a 7th grade Sunday School
teacher, member of Chi-Ro Club and member of Campus Life
Club; and
WHEREAS, her school and other activities including Associated Student
Government at WCHS, Fidelitas Service Club, Spartan Band,
All City Band, Bobbie -Sox Softball, Pep Band and Flag Twirler,
have further rounded out this young lady into a willing,
dependable worker and extraordinary citizen:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
West Covina hereby commends and honors CRYSTAL TEXIERA for
• her outstanding citizenship and receipt of the Youth of the
Year award and does also wish her the best of luck in all
her future.endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall transmit a certified copy thereof
to CRYSTAL TEXEIRA.
