A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA REQUESTING STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION,
TO ELIMINATE CERTAIN A.C. PAVING WORK,
AND THE CITY TO AGREE TO INSTALL AND
MAINTAIN LANDSCAPING TREATMENT
WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Trans-
portation, is widening Azusa Avenue under the San Bernardino_
Freeway; and
WHEREAS, the construction plans provide for a raised
median island to be paved with A.C. asphalt concrete; and
WHEREAS, the undercrossing between the north front-
age road and South Garvey Avenue is a State highway; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina desires to provide
landscaping and architectural treatment to the median island;
and
WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of
Transportation, agrees to delete the asphalt paving from the
median and to construct an irrigation line to the median;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
West Covina does resolve as follows:
• SECTION 1. The State of California, Department of
Transportation, is hereby requested to eliminate the asphalt
concrete paving in the medians as provided on the construction
plans.
SECTION 2. The City of West Covina hereby agrees to
install and maintain landscaping treatment in the future.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adop-
tion of this resolution and is directed to forward a certified
copy of this resolution to the State of California, Department
of Transportation,
