RESOLUTION NO. 5038
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA, VACATING CERTAIN
STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY SUPERSEDED BY
REALIGNMENT OF SOUTH FRONTAGE ROAD
AND SAN BERNARDINO FREEWAY
WHEREAS, by widening of the San Bernardino Freeway,
the south frontage road has been realigned to intersect at
the James and Calvados Avenues intersection, and
WHEREAS, the prior intersection consisted of a
standard knuckle design for a right angle intersection, and
WHEREAS, the newly created intersection does not
require the remnant portions of the existing knuckle designed
intersection which is hereinafter described will be
superseded by relocation;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
West Covina does resolve as follows:
SECTION:1. Pursuant to Sections 1930 to 1934,
inclusive, of the Streets and Highways Code, the City Council
of the City of West Covina hereby finds and determines that
the following described portions of James and Calvados Avenues
';have been superseded by relocation:
Those portions of James Avenue, 52.00 feet wide,
and Calvados Avenue, 52.00 feet wide, as shown
on Tract Map No. 19682, in the City of West
Covina, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, per map recorded in Book 4.96, pages
18, 19 and 20 of maps on file in the office of
the County Recorder of said county, described as
follows:
'PARCEL I
Beginning at a point on the southerly line of Lot 13
of said Tract, said point being -North 890-33'-13" West,
27.42 feet from the southeasterly corner of said
Lot 13, said point also being the beginning of a
tangent curve, concave northerly and having a radius
of 100.00 feet; thence westerly, along said curve,
through a central angle of 200-14'-12" an arc
length of 35.32 feet to the beginning of a reverse
curve concave southerly and having a radius of 62.00
feet; thence continuing westerly, along said
reverse curve, through a central angle of 290-56'-46"
an arc length of 32.40 feet to a nontangent curve
concave northerly and having a radius of 25.00 feet;
thence easterly, along last mentioned curve, through
a central angle of 500-32'-30" an arc length of
22.05 feet to a tangent line being the westerly
prolongation of said 'southerly line; thence, along
said prolongation, South 890-33'-13" East, 47.19
feet to the point of beginning.

PARCEL II.
Bounded westerly by the easterly lines of Lots 8,
9 and 10 of said Tract; bounded easterly by the
following;. described lines: beginning at a point
on the easterly line of said Lot 8, distant North
00-40'-02" East, 56.97 feet from the southeasterly
corner of said Lot 8, said point being the beginning
of a tangent curve concave westerly and having a
radius of 100.00 feet; thence, continuing North
00-40'-02" East, 49.21 feet to the beginning of a
tangent curve concave westerly and having a radius
of 145.00 feet; thence northerly, along last
mentioned curve, through a central of 850-07'-24"
an arc length of 215.42 feet.
SECTION 2. Those portions of existing James and
Calvados Avenues described in Section 1 hereof is hereby .'
summarily vacated and abandoned.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and shall cause a certified copy
thereof to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder
of said county.
