Resolution - 5022C7 RESOLUTION NO. 5022 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA APPROVING THE CLASS SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CLASS OF OFFSET OPERATOR AND ESTABLISHING THE SALARY RANGE THEREFOR. The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. Pursuant to the recommendation of the Personnel Board: 1. The class specifications for the class of Offset Operator, as attached hereto, marked Exhibit A, and by this reference incorporated herein, are hereby adopted. 2. The salary range applicable to the class of Offset Operator shall be salary range 21a ($667 - $811). SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Under direction - assumes responsibility for the City's central duplicatin unit: performs varied tasks in settingu p, operating, and maintai.nin� offset duplicatii and related duplicating equipment; and does related wort: as required. Representative Duties organizes, lays out, and performs the work of the central duplicating unit; counsels users on proper preparation of materials; orders necessary supplies or contracts for service from.vendors; performs skilled and difficult 1:7orl- in setti. up, operating, adjusting, and maintaining; duplicating and other related power equipment in reproduction of various materials; assists in making layouts and de- signs for materials to be duplicated; operates other equipment such as photocopy, .paper cutting, binding, and folding machines; makes minor adjustments to these machines, orders warranty or service contract repairs, and maintains them in goo.: working condition; maintains time, cost, and production reports; I)repares periodi. reports; does miscellaneous related work such as assembling and stapling repro- duced materials. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and rxperience Graduation from high school, or equivalent, with additional specialized training in offset techniques is desirable; and , One year of full-time experience.in the operation of modern offset process and related power equipment. Knowledges and Abilities Thorough knowledge of: the operation of offset and other power equipment used in a production offset printing unit; inks and paper stocks used in duplicating work; current trade practices and equipment. Good knowledge of: principles of production layout and efficient flow of work; record -keeping, simple coating, filing, and general office procedures. _Abili_ty to: plan, lay out, and organize the work of a duplicating unit; wake 1 adjustments to duplicating and related machines used and to maintain them 1.11 good working condition; maintain records and make reports; estimate materials and personnol and production time for all types of offset projects; communicate ef- fectively and work cooperatively with certificated and classified staff. -EXHIBIT A
