A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA ADOPTING AMENDMENT NO. 1975-1
TO THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
(Planning Commission Resolution No. 2565).
• The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find, determine
and declare that the following Revision and Amendment to the General
Plan of the City of West Covina was duly initiated, that notice
of hearing thereon was duly given and published, that public hearings
thereon were duly held by the Planning Commission and by the City
Council and that the public convenience, necessity and general
welfare require that the following Revision and Amendment to the
General Plan be made.
SECTION 2. Amendment No. 1975-1 to the General Plan of the
City of West Covina consisting of the Environmental Quality Element,
including the amendments to that element, approved by the City
Council on February 10, 1975, is hereby adopted. A copy of the
Environmental Quality Element, as amended, is on file in the office
of the City Clerk and is, by this reference, incorporated herein
and made a part hereof.
SECTION 3. Those land areas that are designated as
open space in the General Plan as originally adopted which are not
so designed in the Environmental Quality Element, as adopted by
this resolution, shall be available for the same use as that
specified for the least intensive use which is available for any
contiguous land area.
SECTION 4. The City Council does hereby find and declare
that the Environmental Impact Report prepared for the Environmental
Quality Element of the General Plan by the Planning Department and
as adopted by the Planning Commission after notice and public hear-
ing, is adequate, has been prepared in accordance with the California
Environmental Quality Act of 1970 and the State Guidelines, and
is hereby adopted by the City Council. The City Council does also
find and declare that the component parts of the Environmental
Quality Element of the General Plan will enhance and protect the
environment of the City of West Covina.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
