RESOLUTION.NO. 5013
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA RELATING TO DEPARTMENT HEAD AND FLAT
RATE POSITIONS AND SALARIES.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding those portions of Section
VII of Resolution No. 1277 relating to salary rates for department
heads and exempt employees, the monthly salary of each position
listed below is hereby established as follows:

Effective August 1, 1974, the City will pay to the Public Employees'
Retirement System (PERS) the amount defined by PERS as deferred
compensation equivalent to 7% of the salaries for the above -listed
department head range miscellaneous employees on behalf of the
employee's share of the retirement contribution, including sur-
vivor's benefit.
Effective August 1, 1974, the City will pay to the Public Employees'
Retirement System (PERS) the amount defined by PERS as deferred
compensation equivalent to 6% of the salaries, for the department
head range public safety employees on behalf of the employee's
share of the retirement contribution, including survivor's benefit.
• *Compensation for performance of duties associated with three
positions.
**Deputy Director of Emergency Services.
"n',An additional $50 per month will be paid while acting as Public Service Director.
SECTION 2. Department head range employees with less
than five years City service may receive payment in lieu of up to
five days of accumulated vacation time in any calendar year upon
filing a written five-day request with the payroll department.
Department head range employees with five or more
years of City Service may receive payment in lieu of up to ten
days accumulated vacation time in any calendar year upon filing
of a written five-day request with the payroll clerk.
SECTION 3. Except as expressly changed in Section 1
hereof, the salary rates provided for in this resolution are the
same as, and a continuation of, the salary rates established in
Resolution No. 4911 and Resolution No. 4988.
• SECTION 4. Resolutions numbered 4911 and 4988 of the
City Council of the City of West Covina are repealed.
SECTION 4.1. The salary rates provided for herein shall
be effective as of January 1, 1975.

of this resolution.
