RESOLUTION NO. 3511
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A
SPECIAL ANNEXATION ELECTION, AND FIXING A TIME
AND PLACE FOR PROTESTS BY PROPERTY OWNERS (West
Covina Southerly Annexation District No. 195)
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of West
Covina:
1. That it is the intention of the City Council of the
City of West Covina to call a special election to be held in cer-
tain inhabited territory contiguous to said -City, proposed to be
annexed thereto, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified
electors residing in said territory the question whether or not
said territory shall be annexed to the City -of West Covina.
Said territory is described as follows:
That portion of the Rancho La Puente in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded
in Book 1, pages 43 and 44 of Patents in the office of
the County Recorder of said County:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly prolongation
of the centerline of Amar Road as said centerline is
shown on map of Tract No. 20920 recorded in Book 570,
pages 40, 41 and 42 of Maps in the office of the County
Recorder of said County and the westerly boundary of the
City of West Covina as same existed on September 27, 1963,
with the filing of the affidavit of completion for "South-
erly Annexation District No. 181" (Ordinance No. 815);
thence westerly along said easterly prolongation and
continuing westerly along said centerline of Amar Road to
the intersection with the centerline of Indian Summer
Avenue as shown on map of Tract No. 18393 recorded in Book
509, pages 33 and 34 of Maps in the office of the County
Recorder of said County; thence northerly along said center-
line of Indian Summer Avenue and continuing northerly along
the centerline of Indian Summer Avenue as shown on map of
Tract No. 18156 recorded in Book 453, pages 46 and 47 of
Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said County
to the intersection with the centerline of Maplegrove
Street as shown or, map of Tract No. 18081 recorded in
Book 533, pages 48 and 49 of Maps in the office of the
County Recorder of said County; thence easterly along said
centerline of Maplegrove Street and continuing easterly
along the centerline of Maple Avenue (now Maplegrove Street)
as shown on map of Tract No. 13875 recorded in Book 284,
pages 41 and 42 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder
of said County; to the intersection with the centerline of
the 40 foot strip of land as described in deed to County of
Los Angeles (for Abel Street) recorded in Book 17414, page
195 of Official Records, in the office of the County Recorder
of said County; thence easterly along said last mentioned
centerline to the centerline of Pass and Covina Road as
shown on said last mentioned map; thence southerly along
said centerline of Pass and Covina Road to the northerly
terminus of that certain course, having a bearing and length
of N 0015120"E 365.26 feet in the centerline of said Pass
and Covina Road; thence southerly along said certain course

to the northwesterly terminus of that certain course
having a bearing and length of N 28° Oil 00" W 337.26
feet in the centerline of said Pass and Covina Road;
thence southeasterly along said last mentioned centerline
to the intersection with the southwesterly prolongation
of the northwest line of the aforementioned "Southerly
Annexation District No. 181"; thence northeasterly
along said last mentioned prolongation to the easterly
line of said Pass and Covina Road, said east line being
the westerly boundary of the aforementioned "Southerly
Annexation District No. 181"; thence south along said
westerly boundary to the point of beginning.
2. That said territory hereby is designated and identi-
fied as "West Covina Southerly Annexation District No. 195".
3. Notice hereby is given that on the 9th day of January,
1967, at the hour of 8:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City
Hall of the City of West Covina, any person owning real property
within said territory so proposed to be annexed and having any
objection to the proposed annexation may appear before said City
Council and show cause why such territory should not be annexed.
Such protest must be in writing and shall state the name or names
of the owner or owners of the property affected by such annexation
and the location and area of such property in general terms. If it
be found that protest is not made by public and private.owners equal
to one-half of the value of the territory, further proceedings shall
be taken in accordance with the law for the holding of such special
election.
• 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and cause the same to be published in the San Gabriel
Valley Daily Tribune once a week for two successive weeks prior to
the hearing.
Adopted and approved this 12th day/ of December, 1966.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of West Covina at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 12th day of December, 19660 by
the following vote of the Council:
