A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA EXPRESSING ITS DESIRE TO
WITHDRAW FROM THE BALDWIN PARK RECREATION
AND PARK DISTRICT THAT PORTION OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA WHICH LIES WITHIN AND IS PRESENTLY
A PART OF SAID DISTRICT
WHEREAS, a small portion of the City of West Covina
is included in the Baldwin Park Recreation and Park District;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park is actively pro-
ceeding to dissolve the Baldwin Park Recreation and Park Dist-
rict in order to provide similar services by the City of Baldwin
Park directly to the residents of said City; and
WHEREAS, Recreation and Park services to residents of
West Covina are now being provided by said City; and
WHEREAS, the withdrawal of the area of West Covina
presently within the Baldwin Park Recreation and Park District
from said District will reduce the tax rate in the subject area
by more than $0.38 per $100 of assessed valuation beginning
July 1, 1967; 1.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of
the City of West Covina as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of
West Covina hereby expresses its desire to withdraw that portion
of West Covina which is now a part of the Baldwin Park Recrea-
tion and Park District from said District;
SECTION 2. That copies of this resolution be forwarded
to the City of Baldwin Park, Los Angeles County Board of Super-
visors and the Local Agency Formation Commission of Los Angeles
County.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution.
