A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA INSTITUTING PROCEEDINGS AND ORDERING THE REPORT
FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. AD 1-66
(LARK ELLEN AVENUE AND OTHER STREETS)
WHEREAS, it has been determined that a majority of the property
owners in the district proposed to be formed for the improvement of
Lark Ellen Avenue and other streets, by the acquisition of right of
way and the clearing, excavating, grading, preparation of sub grade,
construction of aggregate base and asphaltic concrete pavement, con-
struction of concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks and appurtenant
work thereto on said Lark Ellen Avenue and other streets, desire the
improvement; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the City of West Covina now
institute proceedings for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That proceedings hereby areinstituted for the
acquisition of right of way as shown on that certain drawing No.
741 on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City and the
improvement of said right of way and existing right of way by the
clearing, excavating, grading, preparation of sub grade, construction
of aggregate base and asphaltic concrete pavement, construction of
concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks and work appurtenant thereto
as shown on, and in accordance with, that certain plan No. 429 D,
said drawing and plan being approved by the said City Council by
Resolution No. 3484 of said City Council adopted November
14, 1966.
That the district of lands proposed to be assessed for such
improvement shall include, in general, the area included in and
shown as the assessment district on that certain map No. 742 approved
by Resolution No. 3483 of said City Council adopted November
14, 1966.
There shall be contributed to the cost of doing said work
the cost of the clearing, excavating, grading, preparation of sub
grade, construction'of aggregate base and asphaltic concrete pavement
and the cost of construction of replacing and relocating existing
concrete curbs and gutters. It is estimated that the cost of such
work will be $_ 100,652.6 . The contribution by said City shall
be paid out of the treasury of said City and from the General Fund
thereof.
That this project shall be known as "Assessment District No.
AD 1-66,, (Lark Ellen Avenue and other streets)"
SECTION 2. That the Street Superintendent hereby is requested
to procure the required information and prepare a written report upon
said proposed improvement in accordance with the Special Assessment
Investigation, Limitation, and Majority Protest Act of 1931, being
Division 4 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
That the Street Superintendent hereby is requested to provide
all necessary resolutions, reports, plans, specifications, estimates,
maps, notices, proposal forms, contract forms, bond forms, and other
acts, services, or forms necessary to complete this proposed improve-
ment in accordance with the Improvement Act of 1911, being Division
7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 3. That a certified copy of this resolution shall be
forwarded to the Street Superintendent and the same shall be attached
to the report ordered hereby, upon the presentation of said report
to the City Council.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.
