A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING THE CLASS SPECIFICATION FOR
SENIOR RECREATION LEADER(FULL TIME) ATTACHED
HERETO AND AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 1277 ACCORDINGLY.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. That portion of Section 7 of Resolution 12772
adopted on the 28th day of January, 19582 relating to Senior Recrea-
tion Leader (Full Time) is hereby amended as follows:
"Senior Recreation Leader 1
(Full Time)
SECTION 2. The class specification for Senior Recreation
Leader(Full Time attached to and made a part of Resolution 1277
adopted on the 2Ath day of January, 1958, is hereby repealed by the
substitution therefor of a new class specification for Senior Recrea-
tion Leader (Full Time) and hereby made a part of this Resolution.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.

1966.

regular meeting thereof held on the 24th day of October , 1966s

SENIOR RECREATION LEADER
(Full -Time)
,JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision arranges and supervises assigned recreation leaders
and activities on a playground or recreation center, assists in conducting
recreation center programs; and does related work as required.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Arranges and supervises group and individual instruction in games, arts and
crafts, and general recreation activities; leads games, contests, exhibits,
hobby groups and shows, and youth group activities; provides leadership in
club organization; maintains discipline; :makes reports; keeps attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE
• Training and Experience
•
Four years of college training in recreation, education, sociology, physical
education or related fields; and
One year of regular part-time experience in recreation work;
Additional experience may be substituted for the college training on a year -for -
year basis, up to a maximum of two years.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of the principles of recreation programs; knowledge of a number of
games, arts and crafts, and athletic events; knowledge of the psychology of
children and youth;
Ability to maintain discipline and take responsibility; ability to follow written
and ofal directions; ability to present written and oral reports; ability to work
effectively with youth, supervisors and the public.
