Resolution - 3466RESOLUTION NO. 3466 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, STATING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF . THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD SEPTEMBER 13, 19661 CONCERNING SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 192 L� • WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina, California, by Resolution No. 3414, duly called and provided for the holding of a special election on September 13, 1966, in the territory therein described and proposed to be annexed to -the City of West Covina, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of the territory the proposition set forth in said Resolu- tion and hereinafter stated; and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law, and said elec- tion was on said date duly held at the polling place designated in said Resolution, and the votes cast thereat were canvassed and the returns thereof made at the time and in the manner and form provided by law; and WHEREAS, on the 26th day of September, 1966, said City Council has duly assembled at its usual place of meeting and has canvassed the returns of said election; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby resolve, determine and order as follows: SECTION 1. That the special election for the purpose of submitting to the voters of aforesaid territory the proposi- tion hereinafter set forth was duly held on September 13, 1966, and the votes cast thereat were duly and regularly canvassed and the returns thereof made at the time and in the form and manner required by law. SECTION 2. That the proposition voted upon at said election is as follows: SHALL SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 192 BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF WEST COVINA? SECTION 3. That the absent voter ballots have been duly canvassed and counted as required by law, and the result of such count is hereinafter stated. That this City Council has duly canvassed the returns of said election and from said returns it appears, and this City Council finds, that the total number of votes cast in the election precinct established for said election upon said proposition, and the number of votes cast therein for and against said proposition, the total number of absentee votes cast at said election upon said proposition and for and against said proposition, and the total number of votes cast in said territory upon said proposition and for and against said proposi- tion, are as follows: -1- VOTING PRECINCT YES NO TOTAL Total Votes in Precinct 125 71 196 • Absentee Votes 4 0 4 Total Votes, Including Absentee Votes 129 71 200 0 U SECTION 4. That the votes of more than one-half of all the voters voting at said election were cast for the adoption of said proposition, and that said proposition is hereby declared to have carried. SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. Passed, approved and adopted/this 26th day of September, 1966.
