Resolution - 3439Y, RESOLUTION NO. 3439 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA AMENDING THE PERSONNEL RULES AS ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION NO. 1276 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA RELATING TO CONTINUED SERVICE AFTER REACHING RETIREMENT AGE. The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. Rule No. 16.5 is hereby added to those certain personnel rules adopted by Resolution No. 1276 of the City Council of the City of West Covina, reading as follows: 1116.5. Age and Retirement After reaching his normal retirement date under the State Employees$ Retirement System, upon request of an employee (and the consent of the City Manager, except as to elective officers or officers appointed directly by the City Council), an employee may remain in the active service of the City for such additional period or periods as the City Council may authorize, provided that no one period shall exceed twelve months. The employee's actual retire- ment date shall be on the first day of any month within the ten year period immediately succeeding his normal retirement date. It shall not be necessary for a miscellaneous employee to receive formal authorization of his continued employment until his 65th birthday nor will it be • necessary for a public safety employee to receive such formal authorization until he has reached his 60th birth- day. The maximum age to which any employee may work will be governed by the City Council consistent with the State Employees, Retirement System." SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Adopted and approved this 25th da of July , 1966.
