RESOLUTION NO. 3428
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA COMMENDING JAMES WESLEY TRAVIS
FOR HIS SERVICES TO THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
WHEREAS, James Wesley Travis was appointed to the City
of West Covina Planning Commission by the City Council in Sep-
tember, 1963, and served in that capacity until June 30, 1966;
and
WHEREAS, during his tenure in office as a Planning
Commissioner, the City of West Covina experienced its most rapid
growth in the number of complicated zoning problems to be.
resolved; and
WHEREAS, because of his desire for the proper use and
development of land and his firm belief in sound planning prin-
ciples he contributed much toward processing the many and varied
zoning applications with diligence and effectiveness; and
WHEREAS, his devotion of time and ability toward the
development of the General Plan in order to more efficiently
resolve the many zoning problems of the City led to public
support and confidence in.Planning Commission decisions;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West
Covina does resolve:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of West
Covina hereby commends James Wesley Travis for his fine contri-
bution toward the orderly growth and development of the City of
West Covina and hereby expresses their thanks and appreciation
to him on behalf of the citizens of this City for the gratifying
results of his efforts.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution and shall transmit a certified copy
thereof to James Wesley Travis.
