A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, TO
PERMIT THE USE OF CERTAIN GASOLINE TAX MONEY ALLO-
CATED AS COUNTY AID TOWARDS THE IMPROVEMENT OF
CERTAIN STREETS,DESCRIBED BELOW,BY THE CONSTRUCTION
OF ASPHALTIC PAVEMENT ON AGGREGATE BASE AND APPUR-
TENANT WORK
WHEREAS, there remains unbudgeted gasoline tax money allo-
cated as County Aid towards the improvement of dedicated public
streets and highways of general County interest within the City
of West Covina; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina has
declared Azusa Avenue between Walnut Creek Parkway and Garvey
Avenue approximately .27 miles, and Barranca Street between
Cortez Street and Garvey Avenue approximately .48 miles, and
Glendora Avenue between 400 feet north of Vine Avenue and
Service Avenue approximately .27 miles, and Lark Ellen Avenue
• between Vine Avenue and Walnut Creek Parkway approximately
.57 miles, and Merced Avenue between Azusa Avenue and Michelle
Street approximately .25 miles, all as a part of the County
system, Highways of Los Angeles County, as provided in Section
1700 - 1702 inclusive of Streets and Highways Code of State of
California; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of West Covina
that a portion of the gasoline tax money in the amount of
Eighty Seven Thousand Dollars ($87,000) should be expended for
said improvements of said streets within the City of West Covina;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Supervisors be and they are
hereby requested to authorize the use of Eighty Seven Thousand
Dollars ($87,000) for said improvements of said streets in the
City of West Covina.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk of the City of West Covina
be and is hereby ordered and directed to forward a certified
copy of the Resolution to the County Road Commissioner of
the County of Los Angeles.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of the City of West Covina
shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
