A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA COMMENDING RONALD
EUGENE HOLMES FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICES
TO THE CITY
WHEREAS, Ronald Eugene Holmes has served the City
of West Covina as a member of the Police Department since
October 1, 1961; and
WHEREAS, he has applied himself to the requirements.,
of his position and in addition continued to prepare himself
to do more effective work through study and understanding of
improved and modern police methods; and
WHEREAS; on May 9, 1966, Officer Holmes was called
upon to implement the specialized training he had received;
and
WHEREAS, he pursued and was instrumental in appre-
hending and disarming an armed robber just four minutes after
the West Covina'Branch of the Bank of America had been held up;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
_West Covina does hereby resolve:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby commends
40 Officer Holmes forhis courage and ability and his fine contri-
bution to the effectiveness of the training he received as a
member of the West Covina Police Department.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and shall transmit a certified
copy thereof to the said Ronald Eugene Holmes.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
duly adopted by the City Council of the City of West Covina
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 27th day of June,
1966,.by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: Councilmen Nichols, Gleckman, Mayor Krieger
NOES: Councilmen Snyder
ABSENT: Councilmen Gillum

At the regular meeting of the City Council held on the
8th day of August, 1966, Counc' man Snyder changed his
vote on this resolution from 'N to :'Aye" and
requested that such change b ndorsed o this resolu-
tion. ,
