Resolution - 3399RESOLUTION NO. 3399 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA CONSENTING.TO THE COMMENCEMENT.OF PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED • TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 204. WHEREAS, on May 9, 1966, a Petition on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of West Covina was presented to the City Council of the City of West Covina requesting the Council to give its consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings -in connection with that certain inhabited territory therein referred to and generally described, which is contiguous to the City of West Covina; and WHEREAS, said petition was referred to the Planning Com- mission of the City of West Covina for investigation, report and recommendation; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its report and recommendation to the Council on the loth day of June, 1966,,favoring the commencement of annexation proceedings; and . WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to'give its consent to the commencement of such annexation proceedings. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of West Covina: 1. That consent be and hereby is granted for the commence- ment of annexation proceedings in connection with said inhabited territory in accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913. 2. That said unincorporated territory be and hereby is designated as Southerly Annexation District No. 204, and is described as follows: That portion of the Rancho La Puente in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 1, Pages 43 and 44 of Patents in the office of the County Recorder of said'county described as follows: Beginning at the southwest corner of the City of West Covina as same existed on November 22, 1961, with the certification of Annexation No. 168 (Ordinance No. 723) said southwest corner being a point at the intersections of the,centerlines of Francisquito and Willow Avenues, as shown on Tract No. 19064 recorded in Book 587, Pages 36 and 37 of Maps, records of said county; thence northerly along the centerline of Willow Avenue to the intersection with the southwesterly boundary of the City of West Covina as same existed in 1923 with the incorporation of West Covina as a city; thence northwesterly along said south- westerly boundary and the northwesterly prolongation • thereof to the intersection with the northwesterly boundary of Tract No. 21521 as per map recorded in Book 573, Pages 0 9 15 and 16 of Maps, records of said county; thence southwesterly thereon to the intersection with the northeasterly line of Francisquito Avenue; thence southeasterly thereon to the intersection with the southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly line of Mayland Street; thence southwesterly thereon to the intersection with the southwesterly line of Francisquito Avenue; thence southeasterly thereon to the intersection with the northwesterly line of Tract No. 20966 as per map recorded in Book 588, Pages 91 and 92 of Maps, records of said county; thence north- easterly along the northeasterly prolongation of the northwesterly line of said Tract No. 20966 to the center- line of Francisquito Avenue; thence southeasterly thereon to the point of beginning. 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Adopted and approved this 277th � ty of June 1966. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of West Covina, at a re ular meeting thereof held on the 27th day of June , 1966.
