A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA COMMENDING SOUTH HILLS HIGH
• SCHOOL BASEBALL TEAM
WHEREAS, the South Hills High School has been in opera-
•
tion for only two years; and
WHEREAS, the South Hills High School Baseball Team won
the 1966 Championship of the AA Division of the C.I.F.; and
WHEREAS, this is the first time in history that any
East Valley School has won a baseball title; and
WHEREAS, winning this title was the result of hard
practice, player attitude and determination, together with the
support of an exceptionally fine student body and school spirit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council„
of the City of West Covina hereby commends the 1966 South Hills
High School Baseball Team on winning the C.I.F. - AA Baseball
Championship and expresses to them, on behalf of all our citizens,
congratulations and appreciation for the success of their
excellent team effort.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall
certify to the adoption of this resolution.
Approved and adopted this 13
day of June, 1966.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
duly adopted by the City Council of the City of West Covina at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 13th day of June, 1966,
by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: Councilmen Gillum, Nichols, Snyder, Gleckman, Mayor Krieger
NOES: Councilmen None
