A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA.DIRECTING THE STREET SUPERINTENDENT
TO GIVE NOTICE TO CONSTRUCT STREET IMPROVEMENTS
AND APPURTENANT ITEMS PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 5870
ET SEQ OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA ALONG CERTAIN PORTIONS OF
SUNSET AVENUE AND SERVICE AVENUE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of West
Covina does hereby find, determine, and declare as follows:
(a) That curb, gutter, driveway approaches and
street pavement have been installed and constructed in and along
85% of the total frontage of the block on the southeast side of
Sunset Avenue between Garvey Avenue and Service Avenue and along
51% of the total frontage of the block on Service Avenue and Walnut
Creek Parkway between Batelaan Avenue and Sunset Avenue, in the
City of West Covina.
(b) That it is the duty of the owners of the property
fronting on this side of Sunset Avenue between Service Avenue and
200+ feet north of Service Avenue and on this side of Service Avenue
and Walnut Creek Parkway between Sunset Avenue and 400+ feet north-
east of.Sunset Avenue who have not constructed said improvements to
construct and install said improvements, to wit; curb, gutter,
sidewalk and street pavement only on Sunset Avenue and curb, gutter,
drainage facilities and street pavement only on Service Avenue and
Walnut Creek Parkway pursuant to Section 5875 et seq of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California along that portion of
said streets fronting on their property.
(c) That the Street Superintendent has reported to
the City Council of the City of West Covina that said improvements
as specified in subparagraph (a) have been so constructed.
SECTION 2. The Superintendent of Streets of the City
of West Covina hereby is directed pursuant to Section 5876 of the
said Street and Highways Code to notify the owners and/or persons
in possession of property fronting on the above -described street
where the improvements specified in said paragraph (a) in Section 1
have not been constructed to construct or cause the same to be
constructed along the street fronting on their property in accordance
with said Sections 5870 et seq of the Streets and Highways Code.
Said notice shall be in the form and manner prescribed in Sections
5877 and 5878 of the said Code.
SECTION 3. That at 8:00 P.M. on the llth day of July,
1966, the City Council of the City of West Covina in the Council
Chambers of said City located at 1444 West Garvey Avenue, West
Covina, California, will hold a public hearing at which time and
• place it will pass upon objections or protests, if any, which
may be raised by any property owner or other interested person
to the work proposed to be accomplished along the above -described
street.
SECTION 4. That the construction of said curb, gutter,
driveway approach and street improvements, shall be in conformity
with specifications No. 396 D adopted by the City Council of the
City of West Covina on June 13, 1966.
• SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of West Covina held on the 13th day of June , 1966,
