A RESOLUTION OF'THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF
PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT
NO. 201.
WHEREAS, on April 11, 1966, a Petition on file in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of West Covina was presented
to the City Council of the City of West Covina requesting the
Council to give its consent to the commencement of annexation proceed-
ings in.connection with that certain inhabited territory therein
referred to and generally described, which is contiguous to the City
of West Covina; and
WHEREAS, said petition was referred to the Planning Com-
mission of the City of West Covina for investigation,report and
recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its report and
recommendation to the Council on the 9th day of May, 1966, favoring
the commencement of annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to give its
consent to the commencement of such annexation proceedings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of West Covina:
1. That consent be and hereby is granted for the commence-
ment of annexation proceedings in connection with said inhabited
territory in accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913.
2. That said unincorporated territory be and hereby is
designated as Southerly Annexation District No. 201, and is described
as follows:
That portion of the Rancho La Puente in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California as per map recorded in book
1 pages 43-44 of patents in the office of the County Recorder
of said County described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of Fairgrove
Street acid Aileron Avenue, thence easterly along the center
line of Fairgrove Street to the intersection with the center
line of Echelon Avenue, thence northerly along the center
line of Echelon Avenue and Northerly along the center line
of Walnut Avenue to the intersection with the center line
of Doublegrove Street, thence easterly along the centerline
of Doublegrove Street to the intersection with the southerly
prolongation of the westerly boundary of the City of West
Covina as same existed on October 24, 1956 with the certifica-
tion of Annexation 143 (Ordinance 485) thence northerly
along said southerly prolongation to the intersection with
• the southerly boundary of the City of West Covina as same
existed on the aforementioned Annexation 143 thence easterly
along said southerly boundary to the intersection with the
west line of Tract 15146 recorded in Book 537, Pages 8-9
of Maps Records of said County, thence southerly along the
west line of said tract and southerly along the west line
of Tract 18081, recorded in Book 533 Pages 48-49 of Maps
Records of said County to the intersection with the center
line of Maplegrove Street, thence easterly along the center
line of Maplegrove Street to the intersection with the
center line of Indian Summer Avenue, thence southerly along
the center line of Indian Summer Avenue to the intersection
with the center line of Amar Road, thence westerly along
the center line of Amar Road to the intersection with the
center line of Echelon Avenue thence southerly along the
center line of Echelon Avenue to the intersection with
the easterly prolongation of the south line of Amar Road
thence westerly along the south line of Amar Road to the
intersection with the center line of Aileron Avenue, thence
northerly along the center line of Aileron Avenue to the
point of beginning.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
