A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF
PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT
NO. 199.
WHEREAS, on April 11, 1966, a Petition on file in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of West Covina was presented
to the City Council of the City of West Covina requesting the
Council to give its consent to the commencement of annexation
proceedings in connection with that certain inhabited territory
therein referred to and generally described, which is contiguous
to the City of West Covina; and
WHEREAS, said petition was referred to the Planning Com-
mission of the City of West Covina for investigation, report and
recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its report and
recommendation to the Council on the 9th day of May, 1966, favoring
the commencement of annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to give its
consent to the commencement of such annexation proceedings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of West Covina:
• 1. That consent be and hereby is granted for the commence-
ment of annexation proceedings in connection with said inhabited
territory in accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913.
2. That said unincorporated territory be and hereby is
designated as Southerly Annexation District No. 199, and is described
as follows:
That portion of the Rancho La Puente in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California as per map recorded in Book
1, Pages 43 and 44 of patents on file in the office of
the county recorder of said county.
Beginning at the intersection of the west line of tract
15146 recorded in book 537, pages 8 & 9 of maps records
of said county and the southerly boundary of the city of
West Covina as same existed on October 24, 1956, with the
certification of annexation 143 (Ordinance 485) said point
of intersection being on the south line of Lot 313 of E. J.
Baldwins 5th subdivision as per map recorded in Book 12,
Pages 134 & 135 of Maps Records of said county, thence
easterly along said southerly boundary and said south line
and easterly along the south line of lot 314 of E. J. Baldwins
5th subdivision to the intersection with the easterly boundary
of said city as same existed in 1947 with the certification
of southerly annexation No. 2 (Ordinance 130) thence northerly
• along said easterly boundary to the intersection with the
southerly boundary of said city as it existed upon being

incorporated as a city in 1923, thence easterly along said
southerly boundary to the intersection with the westerly
boundary of the City of West Covina as same existed on April
4, 1946 with the certification of southerly annexation No.
1 (Ordinance No. 122) said westerly boundary being the
westerly line of Lot 288 of said E. J. Baldwins 5th sub-
division, thence southerly along said westerly boundary
of said city and the westerly line of said lot 288 to the
southerly line of lot 288 said southerly line being the
southerly boundary at the City of West Covina, thence
easterly along said southerly boundary and the south line
of Lot 288 and easterly along the southerly line of lot
287 to the southeasterly corner of said lot 287, said
southeasterly corner being on the westerly city boundary
as same existed on June 6, 1955 with the certification of
annexation 129 (Ordinance No. 389), thence southerly,
easterly, northerly and easterly along the boundaries of
said annexation 12% thence continuing easterly along the
southerly boundary of said city as same existed on April
16, 1951 with the certification of Annexation 105 (Ordinance
212) to the intersection with the westerly boundary of said
city as same existed on December 20, 1962 with the certific-
ation of Annexation 1?7 (Ordinance No. 766), thence southerly,
westerly and southerly along the boundaries of the aforementioned
annexation 177 to the intersection with northerly boundary
of said city as same existed on March 8, 1965 with the
certification of annexation 188 (Ordinance No. 909) thence
westerly, southeasterly, southwesterly, southeasterly and
southwesterly along the boundaries of the aforementioned
. annexation 188 to the intersection with the northerly boundary
of said city as same existed on September 19, 1963 with the
certification of annexation 181 (Ordinance 815) thence westerly
along said boundary to the intersection with the most southerly
corner of Tract 26809, said tract recorded in book 719,
pages 1 & 2 of Maps Records of said County, thence northerly
along the boundaries of said tract to the intersection with
the most easterly corner of Lot 40 Tract 29000 Recorded in
Book 712 Pages 74-76 of Maps Records of said County, thence
northerly along the boundary of said Tract 29000 and following
the same in all its various courses to the most northeasterly
point of tract 19056 said tract 19056 records in Book 495,
Pages 18-20 of Maps Records of said County, thence westerly
along the northerly boundary of said tract to the intersection
with the most northerly corner of lot 4 of said tract, thence
south 570 08' 09" west 47.67 feet to a point on the centerline
of Lark Ellen Avenue 80 feet wide, said center line being
a non -tangent curve, concave easterly and having a radius of
600 feet, thence southerly along said curve through a central
angle of 130 13' 05" an are length of 138.42 feet to the
intersection with the center line of Maplegrove Street 60
feet wide, thence westerly along the center line of Maplegrove
to the intersection with the southerly prolongation of the
east line of lot 14 of Tract 15281 recorded in Book 333,
Page 13 of Maps Records of said county, thence northerly
along the southerly prolongation of the east line of Lot
14 of said tract to the intersection with the south line
• of lot 14 of said tract, thence westerly along the south
line of Lot 14 of said tract and westerly along the westerly
prolongation of the southline of lot 14 of said tract to
the intersection with the center line at Valinda Avenue 80
feet wide as shown on said tract, thence northerly along
the center line of Valinda Avenue to the intersection with
the center line of Fellowship Street 60 feet wide as shown
on Tract 18081 recorded in Book 533, pages 48 and 49 of
Maps Records of said County, thence westerly along the
centerline of Fellowship Street to the intersection with

the northerly prolongation of the east lines of Lots 105
and 106 of said Tract 18081, thence southerly along the
northerly prolongation and southerly along the east lines
of said lots 105 & 106 to the intersection with the north
line of Benwick Street 60 feet wide as shown on said tract
18081, said north line being on a tangent curve concave
to the west and having a radius of 38 feet, thence southeasterly,
southerly and southwesterly along said curve to the
intersection with the west lines of lots 135 & 136 of said
tract thence southerly along the west lines of said lots
135 & 136 and the southerly prolongation of the west lines
of said lot to the intersection with the center line of
Maplegrove Street, thence westerly along the center line
of Maplegrove Street to the intersection with westerly
lines of tract 18081, thence northerly along the westerly
line of tract 18081 and the westerly line of said tract
15146 to the point of beginning.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.

adopted by the City Council of the City of West Covina, at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 2 rd day of May 1966,
