A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2962 RELATING
TO THE APPOINMENT OF MEMBERS OF THE HUMAN RELATIONS
• COMMISSION.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3 of Resolution No. 2962, adopted
June 22, 1964, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"3. APPOINTMENT: Appointment to the Commission shall be
as follows:
(a) The City Council shall appoint the members of
the Commission. In appointing the members of said Commission, the
City Council shall make every reasonable effort to insure that a wide
and representative cross section of community interest and viewpoints
are represented on the Commission.
(b) Commission members may be removed from office
by a majority vote of the Council.
(c) Members of the Commission shall be appointed for
terms of one year expiring on June 30th of the appropriate year, except
that the terms of the first members shall expire on June 30th, 1965.
(d) In case of vacancy, the appointment to fill said
• vacancy shall be made by the City Council for the period of the
unexpired term of the former incumbent".
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
Adopted and approved this 23rd day of May 66.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of West Covina at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 23rd day of May 1966,
by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Gillum, Nichols, Snyder, Mayor Krieger
NOES: Councilmen: None
