A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT
• OF PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS SOUTHERLY
ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 200..
WHEREAS, on April 11, 1966, a Petition on file in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of West Covina was presented
to the City Council of the City of West Covina requesting the
Council to give its consent to the commencement of annexation pro-
ceedings in connection with that certain inhabited territory
therein referred to and generally described, which is contiguous
to the City of West Covina; and
WHEREAS, said petition was referred to the Planning
Commission of the City of West Covina for investigation, report
and recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its report
and recommendation to the Council on the 9th day of May, 1966,
favoring the commencement of annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to give
its consent to the commencementof such annexation proceedings;
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of West'Covina:
SECTION 1. That consent be and hereby is granted for
the commencement of annexation proceedings in connection with
said inhabited territory in accordance with the Annexation Act
of 1913.
SECTION 2. That said unincorporated territory be and
hereby is designated as Southerly Annexation District No. 200
and is described as follows:
That portion of the Rancho La Puente in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in
Book 1, pages 43-44 of Patents in the office of the County
Recorder of said County.
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of
Walnut Avenue and the southerly boundary of the City of
West Covina as same existed on May 13, 1955, with the cer-
tification of Annexation 132 (Ordinance No. 386); thence
easterly.along the southerly boundary to the intersection
with the westerly boundary of the City of West Covina as
same existed in 1947 with the certification of Southerly
Annexation No. 2 (Ordinance No. 130); thence southerly
along said westerly boundary to the intersection with
the northerly boundary of the City of West Covina as same
• existed on October 24, 1956, with the certification of
Annexation No. 143 (Ordinance No. 485); thence westerly
and southerly along the boundaries of the aforementioned
annexation and southerly along the southerly prolongation
of the west line of said annexation to the intersection
with the centerline of Doublegrove Street; thence westerly
along the centerline of Doublegrove Street to the inter-
section with the centerline of Walnut Avenue; thence
southerly along the centerline of Walnut Avenue and
southerly along the centerline of Echelon Avenue to the
intersection with the centerline of Fairgrove Street;
thence westerly along the centerline of Fairgrove Street
to the intersection with the centerline of Aileron
• Avenue; thence continuing westerly along the centerline
of Fairgrove-and the boundaries of the City of La Puente
to the intersection with the west line of Stimson Avenue,
said west line being the easterly boundary of the City of
La Puente;"thence northerly along the west line of Stimson
Avenue and the boundaries of the City of La Puente to
the intersection with the south line of Maplegrove Street,
said south line being the northerly boundary of the City
of La Puente; thence westerly along the south line of
Maplegrove Street and the boundaries of the City of
La Puente to the intersection with the west line of
Glendora Avenue; thence northerly along the west line of
Glendora Avenue to the intersection with the southerly
boundary of the City of West Covina as same existed upon
being incorporated in 1923; thence easterly along said
southerly boundary to the intersection with the westerly
boundary of the City of West Covina as same existed
on April 18, 1955, with the certification of Annexation
No. 128 (Ordinance No. 381); thence southerly, easterly,
southerly and easterly along the boundaries of said
annexation to the intersection with the westerly boundary
of the City of West Covina as same existed on February 18,

505); thence easterly along the southerly boundary of
the aforementioned Annexation 147 and northerly along the
easterly boundary of said annexation to the point of
beginning.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.

adjourned regular meeting thereof held on the 16th day of May,
1966, by the following vote of the Council:
