A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
• WEST COVINA CONSENTING.TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF
PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT
NO. 1980
WHEREAS, on March 28, 1966, a Petition on file in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of West Covina was presented to
the City Council of the City of West Covina requesting the Council to
give its consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings in
connection with that certain inhabited territory therein referred to
and generally described, which is contiguous to the City of West
Covina; and
WHEREAS, said petition was referred to the Planning Com-
mission of the City of West Covina for investigation, report and
recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its report and
recommendation to the Council on the 25th day of April, 1966, favoring
the commencement of annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to give its
consent to the commencement of such annexation proceedings.
•NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of West Covina:
1. That consent be and hereby is granted for the commence-
ment of annexation proceedings in connection with said inhabited territory
in accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913.
2. That said unincorporated territory be and hereby is
designated as Southerly Annexation District No. 1980 and is described
as follows:
That portion of the Rancho La Puente in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book
10 Pages 43 and 44 of Patents in the office of the County
Recorder of said County:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly prolongation
of the centerline of Amar Road 60 feet wide as shown on
Tract 21408 recorded in Book 558, Pages 29-34 of Maps
Records of said County, and the westerly boundary of the
City of West Covina as same existed on August 19, 1963
with the Certification of Annexation No. 181 (Ordinance No.
815), thence southeasterly, southwesterly, southeasterly,
northeasterly and southerly along the boundaries of the
City of West Covina as per the aforementioned Annexation
No. 181 to the intersection with the north line of Tract
• 22332 recorded in Book 595, Pages 65-69 of Maps Records
of said County, thence westerly along the northerly boundary
of said Tract 22332 and westerly along the northerly boundary
of Tract 21772 recorded in Book 584, Pages 31 and 32 of Maps
Records of said County to the intersection with the west
line of lot 64 of said tract, thence southerly along the
west line of lots 64-67 of said tract to the northeasterly
corner of lot 78 of said tract, thence westerly along the
north lines of lots 78, 79 and 6, to a point in the east
line of Glenloch Avenue as shown on said Tract 21?72,
said point being on a curve concave to the southwest and
having a radius of 70 feet, thence northerly and westerly

along said curve to the point of tangency with the north
line Glenloch Avenue, thence westerly along the north
of
line of Glenloch Avenue and the prolongation of the north
line of Glenloch Avenue to the intersection with the center-
line of Pass and Covina Road 80 feet wide as shown on said
Tract, thence northerly along the centerline of Pass and
Covina Road to the intersection with the centerline of Temple
Avenue, said centerline being the northerly boundary of the
City of Industry, thence westerly along the centerline of
Temple Avenue and the northerly boundary of the City of
Industry to the intersection with the west line of Tract
24507 recorded in Book 640, Pages 46 and 47 of Maps Records
of said County, said west line being the easterly boundary
of the City of Industry, thence northerly along the west
line of said Tract 24507 and the centerline of Echelon
Avenue to the intersection with the centerline of Amar
Road, thence easterly along the centerline of Amar Road
to the point of beginning.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
Adopted and approved this 9th day of May, 1966.
