A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF
• PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT
NO. 197.
WHEREAS, on March 282 1966, a Petition on file in the office
of the City Clerk of the City of West Covina was presented to the City
Council of the City of West Covina requesting the Council to give its
consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings in connection with
that certain inhabited territory therein referred to and generally des-
cribed, which is contiguous to the City of West Covina; and
WHEREAS, said petition was referred to the Planning Commission
of the City of West Covina for investigation, report and recommendation;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its report and
recommendation to the Council on the 25th day of April, 1966, favoring
the commencement of annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to give its
consent to the commencement of such annexation proceedings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of West Covina;
• 1. That consent be and hereby is granted for the commence-
ment of annexation proceedings in connection with said inhabited terri-
tory in accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913.
2. That said unincorporated territory be and hereby is
designated as Southerly Annexation District No. 197, and is described
as follows:
That portion of the Rancho La Puente in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book
1, Pages 43 and 44 of Patents in the office of the County
Recorder of said County described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the southerly boundary of
the City of West Covina as same existed on December 10, 1958.
with the Certification of Annexation No. 158 (Ordinance No.
604) and the northerly prolongation of the centerline of La
Seda Road 80 feet wide as shown on Tract 25190, recorded in
Book 655, Pages 1-3 of Maps, Records of said County, thence
easterly, southerly, southeasterly and northeasterly along
the boundaries of the City of West Covina as shown on the
aforementioned Annexation No. 158 to the intersection with
the westerly boundary of the City of West Covina as same
existed on June 4. 1963, with the Certification of Annexation
No. 183 (Ordinance No. 796), thence southerly along said
westerly boundary to the intersection with the northerly
• boundary of the City of West Covina as same existed on
October 13, 1964, with the Certification of Annexation
No. 185 (Ordinance No. 880) thence westerly, northerly,
westerly and southerly along the boundaries of the
aforementioned Annexation No. 185 to the intersection
with the south line of Valley Boulevard 93 feet wide as

Boulevard being the southerly boundary of the City of West
Covina as same existed on December 10, 1965, with the
Certification of Annexation No. 190 (Ordinance No. 946),
thence westerly along the southerly boundary and along the
westerly prolongation of the southerly boundary to the
intersection with the southerly prolongation of the
centerline of La Seda Road, thence northerly along said
centerline to the point of beginning.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of West Covina, at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 9th day of May , 1966, by
