Resolution - 3356RESOLUTION NO. 3356 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA COMMENDING ARTIE R. • JETT FOR HIS SERVICES TO THE -CITY OF WEST COVINA WHEREAS, ARTIE R. JETT was elected by the people of the City of West Covina in April, 1962, to serve a full four year -term as City Councilman; and WHEREAS, ARTIE R: JETT took office as City Councilman at a time when the City of West Covina was experiencing its most rapid development and expansion; and WHEREAS, his specialized training and experience in land development, his understanding of people and their land development and zoning problems and his firm belief in the appli- cation of sound principles to planning and zoning based on actual experience, made him an invaluable addition to the City Council in their efforts to resolve the numerous land use prob- lems with understanding and effectiveness; and WHEREAS, his devotion of time and attention toward the updating and modernization of the General Plan,in order to keep pace with the City's rapid growth and his continuing effort to help resolve problems involving adequate water, trans- portation traffic, storm drains, streets and highways by becoming • a working member of many committees and organizations, were all dedicated to the improvement of our City; and WHEREAS, in so doing, he proved himself to be a sincere and capable public servant; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA'DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of West Covina commends ARTIE R. JETT for his fine services to the City of West Covina and its citizens, and hereby expresses its appreciation to him for the gratifying results of his efforts. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall transmit a.certified copy thereof to said ARTIE R. JETT.
